VEGAN TAKEOUT: wicked sisters

I order online. I take it out. I give you my take.  WICKED SISTERS is a must visit when you are in Baltimore. Vegan and vegetarian friendly, the food is nothing less than wicked good.

Course number one is the butternut squash soup. They put the pecans on the side so I  sprinkled those to give it a little more texture. Almost immediately, the earthiness of the apple hits you. The butternut squash follows and evens it out.

This soup is clean, flavorful, light  and comforting. In every slurp or spoonful, you get some of the pecan,  the richness of the squash and the light sweetness of the apple. It’s phenomenal.

Course number two is the flash-fried sweet and spicy brussels sprouts. They look beautiful. They smell beautiful. They taste beautiful. Crispy doesn’t even begin to describe the texture. They are crispy, crispy. The outer layers are extra flaky and tender all the way through and through.

Cooking brussels sprouts is an art and a science. Can’t everybody do it.  You go to eat at some places and the brussels sprouts taste like you are eating cement rocks. Not here.  Have mercy, these are absolutely amazing. Who would’ve thought a grown man would get so excited over some brussels sprouts.

Next up are the spicy mushroom bites. That’s what I call good looking food. These are phenomenal.  How do you cook mushrooms like this? They’re perfectly fried, not overcooked or under cooked. So light and crispy, they melt in your mouth.

I could eat these mushrooms every day. I could eat that soup every day. I could eat those Brussels sprouts every day. Wicked Sisters, you are just wicked. You cook some wicked good food. You put some wicked good food in people’s bellies. I appreciate you.
