Baltimore has a rich history as a major seaport, manufacturing center and railroad hub. With hundreds of identified districts, Baltimore has been dubbed a city of neighborhoods. Baltimore also boasts tons of famous residents. The city has more public statues and monuments per capita than any other city in the country.
PURE RAW is on a mission is to make healthy eating a habit everyone can adopt! Their motto is fueling healthy lifestyles and positive energy hugs you when you walk through the door of PURE RAW. I opt for an acai bowl with banana and apple juice topped with granola, strawberry, blueberry, and coconut.
GRAFFITI ALLEY is a hidden alley is a haven for graffiti artists. You can never predict what you’re going to see, considering how frequently it’s repainted throughout the year.

THE BALTIMORE MUSEUM OF ART is free for everyone, every day and features a renowned collection of historic, modern, and contemporary art. Be sure not to miss the amazing sculpture garden behind the museum.
Eleanora Fagan or Billie Holiday was an American jazz singer known for her vocal delivery and improvisational skills. She has both a statue and mural in Baltimore. I wanted to check out both.
REFOCUSED is a family run vegan restaurant in Baltimore with a touch of casual sophistication. They are on a mission to save the world one delicious plant based meal at a time. I ordered vegan jumbo fried shrimp and Baltimore’s best vegan mac and cheese to start with. My main course was the vegan cheesesteak sub with vegan steak, peppers, mushrooms, onions, and vegan cheese. Refocused is definitely a hidden gem worth discovering.
The inner harbor boasts the best of Baltimore. As a tourist attraction, landmark, and centerpiece of downtown, this old seaport is an excellent blend of Maryland’s new and old history.
The National Aquarium’s mission is to inspire conservation of the world’s aquatic treasures. Their collection includes 20,000 animals from 800 species of fish, birds, amphibians, reptiles and mammals. From sharks, dolphins, alligators, turtles to frogs, you’ll see it all.
Somewhere between a water-based bus line and open-air adventure, the BALTIMORE WATER TAXI is the fun, fast, and affordable way to navigate the city.
Located in the World Trade Center on 27th-floor, TOP OF THE WORLD is a viewing deck overlooking the city. Everywhere you look are views, views and move views.
LAND OF KUSH is perhaps the most well known vegan restaurant in Baltimore. The vegan food here warms the soul and fills the belly. They are known for their huge portions and flavorful offerings on the menu. I decided on the Kush bbq ribs platter with sides of collard greens and yams. I got greedy and added on some curry chicken. This is vegan comfort food at its best. I could eat this everyday.
PATTERSON PARK is not the city’s largest park, however it is nicknamed “Best Backyard in Baltimore.” The pagoda is a 60-foot observatory that was designed as a people’s lookout tower. From the top of the tower one can view downtown and Baltimore’s many neighborhoods.
The PEABODY INSTITUTE was designed to be a cultural center for the City of Baltimore, with plans for an art gallery, music school, and a public reference library. The library’s collections are available for use by the general public.

The BALTIMORE & OHIO RAILROAD MUSEUM houses the most comprehensive and significant collection of railroad history in the Western Hemisphere. The museum has boasts the largest collection of 19th-century locomotives in the U.S. This museum is massive.
The VISIONARY ART MUSEUM is the official national museum for the best in self-taught intuitive artistry. The museum specializes in the preservation and display of outsider art. Be prepared for the unusual, be prepared the the unexpected, be prepared for the imaginative. This museum isInteresting, eclectic and unexpected. It has been designated by Congress as America’s national museum for self-taught art.
FORT MCHENRY is a historical coastal fort best known for its role in the War of 1812, when it successfully defended Baltimore Harbor from an attack by the British navy. Surrounded by water on three sides, the brick fort was far enough from Baltimore to provide protection without endangering the city. The battle inspired Francis Scott Key to write the national anthem, The Star Spangled Banner.
WITH LOVE CO is a plant based sip & eat joint on the north side of Baltimore. As the sign says on the wall everything begins and ends with love. The menu blends plant based and gluten-conscious philosophies. I ordered the lentil burger with the sweet pot salad side. I also added the deviled avocado for good measure. My stomach definitely fills the love. As vegan restaurants in Baltimore go, this spot is worthy of a return visit.
Thank you Baltimore. I ate well, got lost often and loved every minute of it.
